Berry Hill 20 Stow on the Wold 5

For the plate semi final Berry Hill had an early start with the adjustment for British summer time and the long drive to Stow which may have been a reason for their slow start. Many errors causing breaks in play didn't help either in getting into a flow but they finally opened up the scoring with a well worked try resulting in Harry Brown going over the line. It was Brown again who increased the lead to see the visitors go into the break two tries up. For the second half Hill started to gain some form and pressurised Stow in their half ,Ryan Dawson kicked a penalty to increase the lead but poor judgement saw Stow strike back with their only score of the match. Hill responded and started to camp in the oppositions 22 and after some great defending with the ball being held up several times their final try came from forward Elliot Clarke who pushed through the Stow pack .The last play saw Ryan Dawson kicking the conversion to seal the win and progress  to the Plate Final. James Roberts was Hill's man of the match for some fine running on the wing.

Berry Hill 60 Lydney 6

With a late cancellation Berry Hill quickly arranged a local derby against Lydney in order to prepare for their county plate semi finals next week. Lydney showed their intentions early in the game to get some points on the board by taking a penalty  putting them 3 points ahead. This was the last time however they would find themselves in this position as Hill took control of the game and started to run in a series of tries. Harry Brown opened up the scoring and Elliot Clarke back from a long lay off due to injury powered over the line to see them 27 -6 ahead at the break. The second half again saw Hill dominating with a strong performance from  new  player Tom Burford. and further tries from William Lewis along with Harry Brown, Callum Wyman and James Roberts all completing a brace of tries each . The next time these 2 teams  meet will be in the final of the U15 Forest combination cup on the 2nd May.

Berry Hill 57 Longlevens 0

Berry Hill hosted Longlevens in the quarter finals of the county plate. Hill missing a few players and forced to make positional changes showed great strength talking the game to Longlevens. For the first 5 minutes Longlevens  held their lines  but Hill slowly got the upper hand to  notch up  a series of tries which went unanswered. Doninating in the centre with good interlinking play from Harry Brown and Billy Roberts meant Hill could control the game allowing Ricky Davis to regain his legs out pacing the opposition to run in 4 tries and picking up man of the match. Ryan Dawson was still on fantastic kicking form putting the ball between the posts 6 times from 9 attempts.

Berry Hill 22 Monmouth 38

With a break in the county competition Hill hosted Monmouth for their second encounter this season. Having won the first match Hill started the more confident and quickly opened up the scoring with Callum Wyman showing great strength to touch down. Monmouth however were not ready to capitulate and poor tackling saw them break through to level the score. Both teams then battled hard and took their opportunities to score but it was Hill who went into the break ahead 22 -19. The lead was not enough and now playing up the slope with the sun against them Monmouth gained the upper hand to take the win. Hill did have chances in the second half and camped in Monmouth's 22 for long periods but their ability to finish alluded them. Kyle Bundy picked up the man of the match but the whole team will need to improve their performance if they are to progress in the county plate.
